1. Gas
Specify the gas name, or mixture composition and proportions. Choose a controller to regulate flow, or a meter to measure flow only.
Confirm operating conditions, match the application, then specify connections and power.
Specify the gas name, or mixture composition and proportions. Choose a controller to regulate flow, or a meter to measure flow only.
Provide minimum, typical and maximum operating flow with units. Convert the maximum to nitrogen-equivalent flow before selecting a range.
Specify inlet and outlet pressure ranges separately, including gauge or absolute pressure. Include vacuum, backpressure or fluctuations where applicable.
Nitrogen-equivalent flow = actual gas flow ÷ gas conversion factor
Example: 9 SLPM methane ÷ 0.719 ≈ 12.52 SLPM nitrogen-equivalent. Select the 803 series.
Read the conversion guide →After choosing the flow range, match the configuration to the control system and operation needs.
| Application | Suggested configuration |
|---|---|
| Inside equipment, controlled by a PLC or DAQ card | 0–5V / 4–20mA analog interfaces: FL-xxx-A, or a digital model with suitable analog interfaces. |
| Multiple instruments | RS485 / Modbus RTU for centralized reading and control. |
| Single-channel desktop operation with occasional adjustments | FL-xxx-A + FL-100 for local setting and display. |
| Computer-based setting and reading | FL-xxx-D with a DB9 communication cable, RS485-to-USB module and application control software. |
| Direct desktop operation plus computer connection | CM-xxxLD with built-in keys and LCD, plus computer connectivity. |
| Local operation at the equipment panel | CM-xxxLD; confirm installation and interface requirements. |
-A: analog interfaces. -D: RS485, Modbus RTU, 0–5V / 4–20mA. CM: integrated display. Meter models add -M to the corresponding model and provide measurement only.
Specify fitting type and tube size, such as 6mm or 1/4″ double-ferrule fittings, or 8mm hose fittings. Multiple sizes are available; tubing is not included in the standard configuration.
Product supply: 9–36VDC, typically 24VDC. Use the equipment’s existing 24V supply or a separate power adapter. An FL-100 combination uses its matched instrument power arrangement.
Specify accuracy, materials, installation space, multi-channel integration, gas mixing or custom software requirements.
