Gas-flow measurement and control are relevant to natural-gas processing and other industrial gas applications. The required instrument depends on gas composition, flow, pressure, temperature and the purpose of the measurement.
An integrated-display thermal MFC combines a gas-flow reading with a control valve and local operation. Suitable configurations can be used in environmental monitoring, industrial processing, analytical systems, gas generation and mixing applications.
Process flow control and custody-transfer measurement are different requirements. A general MFC description does not establish approval for billing or trade settlement. Such use requires the relevant metrological approval, calibration, gas compatibility and application-specific system design. Similarly, statements about high-pressure transmission networks must not be taken as a rating for a standard controller.
